Colnago Serial Number Chart
I bought a C60 on eBay that seems to be genuine. I've done quite a bit of research on different sources on the internet and (this guide for instance ), videos, and photo comparison. Most items seem to check out. I went as far as sending Colnago the SN and they say it's legit, however that only confirms that it is a real serial number that matches the bike color and size. Here are a few of my concerns: 1 - the size of the bottom of the headtube says it should be 1 1/4' according to the guide.
Mine measures at 1.3 inches at the internal diameter and 1.5 at the external diameter. By, on Flickr 2 - I adressed this in another thread, but the BB86 doesn't have a sleeve, apparently Colnago did change this for SOME bikes starting 2017, however, I have never seen a bike with no sleeve (and I have seen quite a few C60s. By, on Flickr Does not have this sleeve: by, on Flickr 3 - This is probably nothing, however its missing this sticker.
But being a new bike, It should be there. By, on Flickr 4 - It doesn't have the cut out triangle on the seat stays. Bike is a 48s, I have heard that the smaller sizes don't have the seat stay cut outs. By, on Flickr 5 - I don't know how to tell if it s monocoque or actually lugged by looking at it or inside the tubes. By, on Flickr The bike was originally sold to a pro race team, however never used.
Specialized serial numbers typically start with the prefix 'WSBC,' 'WUD,' 'STT,' or 'STE.' If you don't know where the bottom bracket shell of the bike is, simply turn the bike upside-down and the bottom bracket is the part of the frame that the cranks run through.
Here are actual pics of my bike. Anyone have thoughts that would ease my concerns of this bikes legitimacy? By, on Flickr by, on Flickr by, on Flickr by, on Flickr by, on Flickr by, on Flickr Here is what I heard back from colnago: by, on Flickr. Cruzer blade serial number. I already commented in the other thread on the BB and how it’s changed. As for missing the cutout in the seatstay, it’s only because it’s a leprechaun size (thank goodness for Lucky Charms).
You can look inside the headtube and easily see the tubes inside of the lugs. If you can’t see them, you can feel them with your fingers. The bearings are pressed in already, as they should be, so it may be a bit difficult to see I suppose.
I can even see the little squares of extra layup in the BB where the cable guide bolt goes. There is not one thing I can spot they makes me even question its legitimacy. It probably doesn’t have a “RTFM” sticker on it because it was going directly to a pro team. I don’t know.
But I would like to know exactly where you’re getting those measurement numbers on the headtube. Outer diameter of the headtube just above the black flange of the lower headset cup? Mon Jan 29, 2018 6:29 am It’s legit.
